Handing over service records

Pass on not just the car, but the care it has received. Explore the vehicle record handover process being prepared by I LOVE MINI.

01

Check the vehicle and records first

The seller should check the model and registration number of the vehicle being handed over. Compare the maintenance tasks, dates and mileage in the car log with the original documents.

Distinguish personal entries, partner-confirmed records and correction history. App records are reference material, not a guarantee of the vehicle’s current condition or the safety of the transaction.

02

Create a vehicle handover code

The app preview shows seller and buyer handover menus and a vehicle handover code screen. The intended flow is for the seller to create a code for the vehicle and give it to the buyer.

Check the vehicle details and expiry time on the code screen. Share the code only with the buyer involved in the transaction, not in public posts or group chats.

03

The buyer checks the vehicle and approves

The buyer checks that the code refers to the vehicle being purchased, then follows the approval process shown in the app. This feature is in preparation.

Before approving, confirm the model, registration number and records being transferred. If the vehicle does not match or the code has expired, do not approve it; check with the seller.

04

Confirm that records and reminders were received

The supplied preview explains that, once the buyer checks and approves the code, the car log and maintenance reminders are passed on together. After completion, the vehicle is removed from the seller’s account.

Both parties should then check their vehicle lists and the transferred records. Refer to the released app for the final scope and conditions of the transfer.

05

Take care with cancellations and incorrect transfers

If the code was shared incorrectly or the sale is cancelled, check code cancellation and expiry before the buyer approves. Instructions for handling a transfer after approval or completion will be provided at launch.

Transferring app records is separate from legally transferring vehicle ownership. Code approval does not, by itself, complete a change of registered owner or a vehicle sale contract.

Q&A

Frequently asked questions

Can I share the code with anyone?

No. Give it only to the buyer you are dealing with, and check the target vehicle and expiry time.

Does approval also transfer legal ownership?

No. This is an in-app vehicle profile and record handover process. It does not replace legal ownership transfer or a sale contract.

Does a partner-confirmed record guarantee the car’s condition?

No. Confirming a service record is different from guaranteeing the vehicle’s current condition. Check the work performed and inspect the actual vehicle separately before purchase.
